Several members pointed out that tree cutting has been taking place in close proximity to active tree stands with no consideration given for the hunters and interference causes. As it’s been the policy of the TRGC under the last two groups of officers, that tree cutting that has some benefit to the club’s management goals would be counted as work hours, this ongoing cutting for firewood has been questioned as to what impact it has on our management goals. It was pointed out that many downed trees, that need to be removed, are bypassed and that live trees are routinely being cut instead. As of November 7th, all tree cutting must be discussed with and approved by Dave Scarsella Jr. the Farm Committee Chair. Additionally, any further cutting to be counted as work hours must be approved by the Farm Committee Chair. All stumps must be cut flush with the ground.
